Planning joint renewal in an occupied bathroom

When a bathroom is used every day, organisation forms part of the renewal project. Establish which areas are affected and how use will be managed during and after the work.

List affected areas

Distinguish the shower, bath, basin and other connections. Even work on one area may affect other use through access and scheduling. Record the requested work for each area.

Agree access

Who opens the property, and who can answer questions? Include time windows, access instructions and building restrictions. For a rental property, clarify the necessary approval too.

Prepare the space

Agree which items should be removed from the working area. Toiletries and loose objects around affected joints obstruct access. Exact preparation depends on the agreed work.

Discuss reuse

Ask for instructions for the material actually installed. A general number of hours does not replace product and installation conditions. Organise an alternative bathroom beforehand if needed.

Your project in Bern

For a property in Bern or the surrounding area, please include the exact address. In occupied homes, access and bathroom use need to be agreed. For rented properties, a management contact helps clarify responsibility and approval.
